Just Happy To Be Here

Today’s writing prompt is JUST HAPPY TO BE HERE.

Each step with trust and every breath with love.
Release to realize hope continues to meet my eyes (If they are open, they will find)as I keep moving towards something more, more than before.
And I am becoming with time; growing beyond what I’m leaving behind
And here, it’s all uncertain and unknown, but in the end I gotta believe it’s all going to be alright.
Maybe not right here or right now, but it’s going to be alright.
Here, where there are yesterdays and endless memories and Taco Tuesdays.
Here, where there are Friday nights and Saturday afternoons and even dreaded Monday Mornings.
But here, we have coffee, and I look forward to that bitter taste of grace every waking day; savoring it like a sunrise after a storm.
Here, where we can reminisce and dream and everything in-between.
Here, where we can wonder and wait and wrestle and tempt fate.
Like the time we went out on our second first date to see if this could be what we once thought it could be. And it turns out, we just needed another night to get it right.
Here, where we can exhale fear and breathe in beauty and again.
Here, where love can change what is to come and where truth keeps us from coming undone.
Here, where we can walk with one another as we become; as hope meets our eyes.
Here, where even when it’s all heavy and hard is still a good place to be.
Here, where we have unwritten chapters that need the pen our hand holds, stories that will go beyond our days to remind the world of a different way.
Here, we have each other and a life of adventure and another Monday morning with a cup of coffee.
Here, I’m just happy to be here.
Even on the days when this is the last place I want to be, I want to be here.
Today, I’m just happy to be here.
And I don’t know what tomorrow brings, but I’ll remain to see,
because I gotta believe here is the best place for me to be.
