hope knows the way back home

When life feels like one wrong turn after another
I will trust hope knows the way back home.

And when I return I’ll look back and see how my failures and worries only kept me from seeing the beauty.

And I hate to say, but if I could do it all again I would do it differently.

But I can’t.

We can’t.

But I can move forward differently.

Beginning again today I’ll let hope lead me through the wrong turns and wrong words.

And as hard as it is I will trust my shortcomings won’t have the final say.

They’ll scream and kick and whisper when it gets quiet, but they won’t have the final say.

I’ll grab hold of the hand of grace and this time I won’t let go.

Even when I want to let go, I won’t.

And there is nothing you can say that will pull me from His holy hands.

I’ll stay with myself through the unraveling and there will be unraveling.

I’ll unfold my hands and let God wash my heart and I’ll believe hope knows the way back home.

And I’m going home.

By grace, through faith, I’m going home.
