Advent: Faithfulness

After all these years I am still amazed by the story of Christmas.

God arrives.

The wait is over.

Wonder fills the earth.

Out of the long darkness emerges an endless light, radiating hope for the world.

With the early cries echoing in a manger, we can hear the earth turn its own cry from, “How long, oh Lord?” to “Great is Thy faithfulness!”

Faithfulness isn’t just celebrated and seen during the season of Advent, but it is found throughout every living inch of scripture. We see it in the early days of Creation, the fall of mankind, and the centuries leading to the arrival of Jesus. God remains with and for His people despite our stumbling as we attempt to walk with Him.

Despite it all, He remains faithful.

And this is what continues to amaze me.

He is

Faithful to give.
Faithful to see.
Faithful to listen.
Faithful to forgive.
Faithful to promise.
Faithful to remember.
Faithful to arrive.
Faithful to redeem.
Faithful to come again.
He is.
