About the Author: Tanner Olson
Tanner Olson is an author, spoken word poet, speaker, and humorist best known for helping people put words to hope, grief, faith, and the everyday living of life. Through poetry, storytelling, and humor, Tanner invites audiences to slow down, pay attention, rest in the love of God, and remember that this life—even in all its ordinary and complicated moments—is a gift.
Often described as a “stand-up poet-theologian,” Tanner has spent years traveling across the country speaking and performing in churches, conferences, and schools. His work is known for being both relatable and accessible, blending honesty, grace, and wit in a way that resonates deeply with readers and listeners alike. Whether through poetry, prayers, or stories, Tanner creates space for people to feel seen, encouraged, and a little less alone.
Tanner is the author of several books, including Walk A Little Slower, All the Things I Say to God (Zonderkidz, 2025), Getting Through What You’re Going Through: Notes and Poems for Hoping and Becoming (Zondervan, 2026), and The Day God Made Dogs (Zonderkidz, 2027).
Tanner lives in Nashville with his wife, Sarah, their son, Judah, and their dog, Pancake. He doesn’t take himself too seriously, drinks his coffee black, cheers for the Orlando Magic, and continues searching for beauty and hope in ordinary life.
