will you sit with me
as i sit with you
will you listen to me
as i speak to you
will you go with me
when i try to leave you?
I find myself thinking and writing a great amount about prayer these days.
Prayer fascinates me.
It is a wonder beyond what I can comprehend that God not only wants to hear from us, but also listens to us.
That He sits with us.
That He listens to us.
And that He goes with us.
Knowing this makes today’s poem sound redundant.
Through all the noise of my mind I can hear God respond with a simple, of course.
Of course I will sit with you.
Of course I will listen as you speak.
Of course I will go with you even when you try to leave.
